"I'll Believe in Anything" • Wolf Parade (by Justin Karcher)

Grief wakes up as a dark-haired woman
wearing an edible fedora. When she walks
along the water, seagulls pick at her
until she is nothing but air. Across the way
there are people wide awake like the Bible.
They throw loose teeth into the current
and watch the world go by. If I could brush
my memory clean, I believe you would be
the only thing that would remain.
