Friday Five exists as a little challenge to me: five new albums, five new stories per week. They're here for you to enjoy (or not!) No summaries or in-depth criticism. But here are a few notes:
Balu Brigada's "Backseat" has to be the pop song of the year for me. Reminds me of peak Tame Impala. Perfect tempo change toward the end.
Dennis Connolly's "2 Comics" makes me wish we had comics at M7. If you've got something that fits the call, send it on.

Reading Kevin Kearney's Freelance and Vincent Lam's Bloodletting & Miraculous Cures. Consistently impressed with every book Rejection Letters Press turns out. My review of Freelance here, shouting from rooftops how good it is.
Watching Eddington, Reservation Dogs, and trash Bigfoot documentaries.
Can't stress this enough. If you want to be a better writer, read more. Volunteer as a reader for one of your fav lit mags. You'll learn something from just about everything you take in. You learn just as much from what you don't like as what you do.
